Sunshine
When I went to sleep I had sunshine in my heart that you put there, unknowingly. I fell into my slumber with a smile on my face. The next morning I awoke to a sunny day. So bright out that it was necessary I squint on my way to class that afternoon. Me and the sun were in connection as soon as it raised. It felt my energy. I helped it shine as the sunshine in my heart burst through the seams and escaped to help the morning light. I was content with that until all my sunshine was gone. By the end of the day my heart was as dark as the night sky. I was lost and needed you to replace that sunshine in my heart and turn it to that yellow candy heart I wished it to be. I looked into your eyes just before I shut mine and when I dreamt, the sun was bright, a dream full of intense sunshine. I remember the sun because it was my happiness. I do not remember my dream this time. . .
